AMG Specialty Hospital – Central Indiana Muncie and Hancock Campus’ are seeking a Full-Time Director of Operations as a hospital administrative support role.

The Director of Operations is a member of the administrative team and as such participates in decision-making, policy determination, planning and operations of the hospital. She/he has the responsibility for the management of all department operations and reporting variances to the CEO and CCOs on a daily basis. The Director of Operations is a fast-paced position that requires a knowledge base of all departments within the hospital and utilizes personal experience and experience of peers to problem solve issues arising in a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH). The Director of Operations must have knowledge of hospital facility operations, management of financial goals at all levels, budget variance analysis skills, organizational and leadership abilities, staff and team building, staff recruitment, management of leadership team members, planning and initiation of performance improvement concepts and the ability to participate in developing and implementing strategies to address opportunities for improving hospital daily operations. They will be responsible for working with Central Supply, Human Resources, Health Information Management, Case Management, Quality and Safety and Chief Clinical Officers. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

This position will mainly be based working at our Muncie, IN Campus and based on needs will occasionally work at our Hancock Campus in Greenfield, IN.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration or a four-year clinical degree.
  • Minimum of three years management experience in a hospital/health care related field.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.
  • Must be able to articulately communicate, interpret and explain complex information and comprehend written communication.
  • Must be able to articulately communicate, interpret and explain complex information and comprehend verbal and electronic communication.
  • Advanced knowledge of business computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel.
  • Detailed computer knowledge.
