Houston Medical Center – AMG Specialty Hospital is seeking a day shift FT Respiratory Therapist (RT). Performance of technical work concerned with administering therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.  Operating and monitoring respiratory equipment, such as, continuous and intermittent ventilators, medical gas delivery apparatus, incentive breathing/hyperinflation devices, environmental control systems, and aerosol devices; administering medical gases, humidification, aerosols, and respiratory medications; maintaining clearance of patients natural and artificial airways; providing primary assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and if applicable, obtaining blood samples, running blood samples, maintaining the Arterial blood gas laboratory, reporting analyte results and interpreting blood gas data.

Job Requirements

  • Licensed Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RT, RRT, CRT, RCP).
  • Active National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential per state requirements.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one to three years of related work experience.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages desirable.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
