Extended Critical Illness Recovery When You or Your Loved One Needs It Most

After a serious injury, illness, or surgery, the average hospital stay allowed by insurance providers can be as little as just four to five days. In order to make a full recovery and regain at-home independence, many patients will require more care and rehabilitation.

Long Term Acute Care Hospitals like AMG Specialty Hospital – Lafayette exist to provide this extended, high-level of care so that you or your loved one gets the attention, care, and time you need to regain your independence or transition to the next level of care.

In order to deliver this high-level of attention and therapy, we offer 18 private rooms, in-room Dialysis, full-time respiratory therapists, full-time wound care nurses, an in-house Nurse Practitioner, a full-time Case Manager, ventilator care, and 8 high observation/1 negative pressure room.

The Numbers

Unlike a skilled nursing facility (SNF), critical illness recovery hospitals (also known as Long Term Acute Care Hospitals) provide the same level of care you receive in a traditional hospital. With a better nurse-to-patient ratio, more nursing hours per day, private rooms, and access to specialists, you receive a higher quality of care than in a SNF. At AMG Specialty Hospital – Lafayette, you’ll always receive a higher quality of care, so you can recover more fully.
